Outfit Inspiration for Your Senior Photos

Jan 3, 2025

Share

Alright, girl, let’s talk outfits for your senior photoshoot! 💃 You want to look cute, feel confident, and have a look that’s totally YOU, right? Whether you want something trendy, classic, or a little bit of both, I’ve got some ideas that’ll make you slay your shoot.

1. First things first – Know your vibe!

Are you going for more of a boho, edgy, chic, or sporty look? Or maybe you want to mix it up? It’s important to pick outfits that not only match your personality but also the location of your shoot. For example, if you're going to a more nature-y spot like Donovan Park, flowy dresses, floral prints, and light layers will give you that relaxed, bohemian vibe. On the other hand, if you’re hitting up downtown Peoria for some urban shots, you could go for a cool, street-style look—think high-waisted jeans, crop tops, or a leather jacket.

2. Outfit Ideas!

Casual Vibes:

  • Floral Dresses: Super cute, comfy, and timeless. Pair them with some cute sandals or ankle boots for a laid-back vibe.

  • High-Waisted Jeans & Crop Tops: This is so in right now. You could do a cute tucked-in tee or a fun, patterned blouse. Add a cute belt for a little extra flair.

  • Rompers or Jumpsuits: These are trendy and totally fun for photos. They can be dressed up with accessories or kept casual.

Dressy Looks:

  • Maxi Dresses: Perfect for the soft, dreamy vibe, especially if you're going for a “romantic” look in a nature spot like Grandview Drive. You’ll look so ethereal! 💫

  • Midi Skirts & Fitted Tops: Pair a cute midi skirt with a fitted top—this look is both trendy and classic.

  • Chic Blazers or Jackets: Layering a blazer or a structured jacket over a fitted dress or top adds some class and polish to your look, and it’ll look super great in urban settings like Junction City.

Athleisure Style:

  • Comfy Tees and Sweatshirts: If you’re more about comfort, go for a cute oversized tee, maybe with a graphic, and some high-waisted shorts or leggings. Add some trendy sneakers or a baseball cap for that sporty-chic vibe.

Pop of Color & Accessories:

  • Bright Colors or Pastels: If you want your photos to pop, don’t be afraid to go with bold colors like red, bright yellow, or pastel pinks. They really make your photos vibrant!

  • Accessories: Statement earrings, layered necklaces, wide-brim hats, and even cute sunglasses (especially for an outdoor shoot) can elevate your outfit

3. Where to Shop!

Here are some spots where you can score those cute outfits:

  • Lulus: Perfect for trendy, chic, and dressy pieces. They have amazing dresses and tops that are perfect for senior photoshoots.

  • Forever 21: If you're on a budget but still want to look super stylish, this place has everything from casual to more dressed-up looks.

  • Urban Outfitters: If you love quirky, boho, or street style, UO is your go-to for super cute and trendy pieces.

  • Target: Don’t sleep on Target, girl! They’ve got affordable, cute options, especially for comfy, casual looks.

  • American Eagle: For cute jeans, flowy dresses, and comfy but stylish tops, AE is a solid choice. They’ve got everything from casual vibes to more put-together outfits.

  • Anthropologie: If you want something a little more unique or vintage-inspired, Anthropologie has some beautiful, boho-style dresses and accessories.

4. Tips for Your Photoshoot Look

    • Don’t Overthink It: Wear what makes you feel good! Your confidence is going to show in your photos.

    • Avoid Overly Busy Patterns: Solid colors or subtle patterns (think small florals, stripes, or checks) photograph best. You want the focus to be on YOU, not just your outfit.

    • Comfort is Key: If you're uncomfortable in your outfit, it’ll show. Make sure your shoes are comfy for walking around (but you can always switch to cute shoes for photos, then slip on the comfy ones when you're not in front of the camera).

    • Bring Layers: Especially if your shoot is outside, layers like jackets, cardigans, or scarves can give your look more depth and variety.

    • And remember—have fun with it! This is your moment to show off who you are, so pick outfits that make you feel fabulous. You got this, girl! 😎✨
