Capturing Memories at the Abandoned Standard Oil Pumping Station
Recently, I had the privilege of photographing a beautiful family at an intriguing location: an abandoned Standard Oil pumping station nestled near the Santa Fe Railroad. This site, rich in history and character, provided a unique backdrop for a family photoshoot that allowed us to celebrate their bond in a relaxed and natural environment.
The atmosphere during the shoot was effortlessly laid-back, allowing the family members to interact and connect with one another in a way that felt genuine and heartfelt. Over the years, I have had the honor of capturing their family moments; watching their children grow has made our sessions feel less like formal photo shoots and more like family gatherings. The familiarity I share with them reflects in the candid moments I strive to capture.
The juxtaposition of the industrial relics with the warmth of the family’s interactions created a visually stunning narrative. As they posed against the weathered structures and vibrant scenery, their laughter and smiles painted a picture of joy and connection, reminding us that even in the most unexpected places, beautiful memories can be realized.
At Heidi M Peterson Photography, I believe that every family has a unique journey worth capturing, and I aim to provide timeless images that resonates with their individual story. I look forward to many more sessions that celebrate love, connection, and the passage of time.
